We are now accepting applications for the 2017- 2018 school year! EPIC Academy is a college-preparatory charter high school, open to any student eligible to attend school in the Chicago Public School system.
EPIC Academy uses a lottery process to ensure that all students who apply have an equal opportunity to enroll.
Step 1: Submit Application (Required)
EPIC Academy welcomes prospective 8th grade students to submit an application on-line or pick-up a paper application in our main office and return no later than Friday, December 16, 2016. EPIC Academy will attend neighboring elementary school high school fairs and hold various recruitment events during the fall and winter months and distribute Freshman applications to interested students. Once a student successfully submits an application, he or she will automatically be entered in our annual Lottery for admissions.
New this year is our online application. 8th graders interested in applying to EPIC Academy College Prep for the 2017-18 school year can apply online if they prefer. Families who choose to go this route are still encouraged to attend a recruitment event so they can learn more about the school.
To apply online, please visit here.
Step 2: Prospective Student Events (Optional)
Prospective student events are designed to allow families the opportunity to visit/tour our beautiful campus, meet the principal, teachers, and students, and learn about academics, enrichment, sports and college programs at our school. This is also an opportunity to have all questions answered regarding EPIC. Applications are distributed at each high school fair and recruitment event held at our school. For a full list of upcoming Freshman events, please see below:
Recruitment events are highly recommended so that you can see and learn about EPIC for yourself. There are several events scheduled throughout the school year. However, if you cannot attend a scheduled event, you may also contact our admissions office and obtain an application at the school or by mail.

Step 3: Tour our School (Optional)
If 8th graders and their families cannot make it to one of the recruitment events, they are welcome to schedule a prospective student tour led by our fantastic student ambassadors. Admission tours are provided so that 8th graders and their families will get a chance to interact with an EPIC scholar and hear about EPIC through their perspective. If you are interested in learning more about the EPIC difference and experience, contact our admissions office today at 773-535-7930 to schedule your tour.
Step 4: Lottery (Required)
Families whose applications are received by the deadline will automatically be entered into our annual Lottery for Admissions. We will be hosting our next Lottery on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Admissions notification letters will be mailed home no later than Friday, February 10th. There will be two types of admissions letters mailed out: Acceptance letters and Waitlist letters. Students who are accepted from the lottery will be given a firm deadline to accept their enrollment seat and to complete the required enrollment forms. Students who are waitlisted will be notified that they still have a really good chance at being accepted and are encouraged to check-in with our admissions team on a regular basis. Note: EPIC Academy carefully monitors our waitlist and will always attempt to communicate to parents where their student is on the waitlist in a timely fashion.
Step 5: Enroll (Required)
Congratulations! Your student has officially made the decision to BE EPIC. Once a student receives an acceptance letter, it is VERY important that they return all enrollment forms by the deadline printed on the letter. EPIC Academy will host our annual Freshman Enrollment Night on March 1, 2017. All parents of accepted students MUST attend.
