Strong Start
Freshmen Strong Start Retreat
Each incoming freshmen class attends a 3-day camping retreat at a Wisconsin YMCA with all of EPIC’s staff and older student leaders, who serve as camp counselors. They tour a college campus, engage in teambuilding, build an understanding of school expectations, and set community goals. One of rights of passage includes climbing a 50-foot tall tower and to build one of EPIC’s habits of mind – courage.

EPIC is proud to offer this unique experience where every incoming freshman can say they set foot on a college campus, know all of the adults in the building, and have great connections with their peers, all before the first day of school.
