Our Executive Team
Myetie Hamilton, Executive Director
Myetie brings over 18 years of experience leading innovative change in K-12 education, and a deep personal and professional commitment to Chicago’s south side communities. She served most recently as Deputy Chief of Schools for Network 9 within CPS, managing transformation for 27 schools in Chicago’s Woodlawn, Bronzeville and Hyde Park communities. As Executive Director, Myetie leads organizational strategy and vision, fundraising and external relations, and board engagement. Myetie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Alabama A&M University, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Illinois Institute of Technology and is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow Class of 2016.
Tawanna (Toni) Patton, Principal
Toni Patton has served as an educator in Chicago for almost 20 years. As a Spanish teacher, Toni joined the Epic staff in 2010 where she found a school that shared her belief that every student has the potential to achieve academic success and make a profound impact on society. In 2012, she joined the leadership team as the Instructional Guide, using her teaching experience to help Epic teachers improve their practice, and in 2017 she became Epic's principal. She received her teaching degree from Illinois State University, and has been featured on the cover of Teacher magazine and in the book See You When We Get There, Teaching For Change in Urban Schools, by Greg Mitchie.
Christian Feaman, Senior Director, Finance and Administration
Christian Feaman is a Chicago native and South-sider who played little league baseball not far from EPIC on 83rd and Yates. He attended Northwestern University and graduated with a degree in Economics. After college, he worked as an equity trader at the Chicago Stock Exchange for over 15 years trading and managing the trade desks for 2 different CHX firms.
After the CHX he moved to the CBOT as an agricultural options trader while earning his MBA in Finance, Economics, and Statistics from the University of Chicago Booth School. He comes to us eager to apply his skills in finance to education and help make a difference in the Chicago communities in which he grew up.
Yani Mason, Director of Development and Marketing
Yani Mason has spent nearly a decade in the education and nonprofit sectors in a variety of roles including digital communications, social media, public relations, and grant writing. Throughout her career, she has helped nonprofit organizations create and maintain engaged communities – both online and off. Yani holds a bachelor of arts from Fisk University, a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University, and a doctorate in interdisciplinary leadership from Governors State University. She recently completed the Integrated Marketing certificate program at the University of Chicago Graham School.
